Lucy has been a Chartered Physiotherapist for 20 years, specialising in musculoskeletal conditions. These many years of experience have given her a unique, holistic approach to teaching
pilates and practising physio. To the pilates class she brings a deep understanding of how the body works, enabling her to advise each individual on the optimum pilates position for them. To
her physio patients, she brings elements of pilates practice into her treatments to aid recovery and longer term flexibility.
Lucy qualified with a 1st class honours BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 1993, a year after which she set up her own private practise which she ran alongside her NHS roles. In 1996 she
achieved her Diploma in Academic and practical Physiotherapy for Sport, a qualification she took further, gaining a MSc in Physiotherapy in 2000 from UCL. During her NHS career she worked at St
George’s London as an Extended Scope Practitioner and Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, becoming Manager and Superintendent of Outpatients at St Mary’s, Roehampton in 2004.
It was during this time that Lucy did her first pilates course, studying under the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute.
Since moving to West Sussex in 2010 Lucy has worked in the private sector at the Nuffield in Haywards Heath, but now focuses her time on running her own physio and pilates practise, Fluid
Physio.
Fluid Physio is running pilates classes at
four venues across Mid-Sussex and treating physio patients at the
clinic in
Pease Pottage.
Lucy's wide-ranging experience makes her hugely adaptable in her approach when it comes to dealing with different conditions. Her patients and class attendees describe her as having an
empathetic ear and as someone who really does go the extra mile in her care for them.
She lives in Cuckfield with her family.
